First of 10 - Training a puppy can be a challenge, food motivation is a key element. Let's take a look at a few options and compare!
Up first will be the Fruitables Baked Dog Treats. Claiming to be delicious and healthy. We picked the crispy bacon and apple flavor.
Welcoming Packaging
Upon first opening the amazon bag, I found the packaging very appealing. Though dogs don't necessarily eat with th
eir eyes, humans tend to. Therefore, a nice picture and clean packaging makes me feel like I'm giving my fur babies the best. The ziplock works well also, which we know is not always the case with some cheaply made packages.
The Taste Test
Tester 1 - Wyatt! Wyatt is a bit lazy in responding to commands, so it is essential to have a motivating treat. Wyatt absolutely loves these treats. Taste test passed for this cutie.
Tester 2 - Roxy! Roxy is a smart girl, and she sits immediately when I grab the Fruitables bag. Needless to say, she loves the taste and can't get enough.
Tester 3 - Axel! Axel is getting older and cares a little less about being first in line for a treat. He still patiently waits, but when it's his turn to get one of these treatos, he rears up above the others to indulge.
Tester 4 - Maddie! Super food motivated, but doesn't always like to recall. Even when she is mid conversation with the neighbor pup, she will gladly come for a Fruitable snack.
Ease of Use
When using treats to motivate, ease of dispensing is key. These treats, though very encouraging, are still a little large to give for every reinforcement of the work your pup is doing. I found breaking them into smaller bite size pieces not terribly difficult when teaching simple commands, but if you're on a walk, they might prove to be a little challenging to incorporate.
